Game drive at Kruger National Park
Villa Ingwe is perfectly situated between two gates of the Kruger National Park (i.e. Orpen gate and Phalaborwa gate).
Both gates are roughly at 45 min drive from the Villa.
We recommend a full day visit starting early at the gate to maximize your experience for excellent sightings

Tshukudu is only short drive from Zandspruit (about 8min).
It is part of Greater Kruger and Tshukudu offers morning and early evening game drives in open 4*4 game drive vehicles
Just enjoy the birdlife in the garden from your lounge, a small permanent water source has been created in front of the deck offering a drinking opportunity for many mammal and bird species
Game drive at Manyeleti
A hidden gem next to Kruger National Park. The main entry is 45 min from the Villa (next to the Orpen-gate)

Mariepskop
From Villa Ingwe you have this mind blowing sight of the Mariepskop Mountain, at 1,945 metres above sea level is one of the highest peaks in the northern Drakensberg and the highest point of the Blyde River Canyon

Blyde River Canyon & the Panoramic route
The Blyde River Canyon is part of the panorama route and 3.5 hours drive from Johannesburg and 2 hours from the Kruger Park and only 25 min. drive from Villa Ingwe. The Blyde River Canyon is a huge canyon with cliffs and rock plateaus in special shapes. The river Blyde River runs through the gorge for the most part – after the Dutch word "happy". The special environment around the Blyde River Canyon is reminiscent of the comparable American Grand Canyon. In recent centuries, the river has carved out a gorge, creating steep mountain walls and smooth mountain formations. The beautiful panorama route that you can drive on your journey from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit leads you through the special landscape of the Canyon. Along the way, you'll pass by the most breathtaking places and viewpoints including Gods Window, The Pinnacle, The Potholes, and the Blyde River Dam.
Horse riding
Our estate has it's own riding centre, "Equine House". The riding school provides you with everything you need for learning how to horse ride, so you can experience nature on horseback. you can ride into the wild reserve and come across harmless wild animals, such as giraffes,kudus, zebras,impalas , nyalas, and warthogs. an unforgetable experience!
Hoedspruit Endangered
Species Center
HESC, established in 1990 as the Hoedspruit Cheetah Project, has been pivotal in conserving endangered species, notably cheetahs and rhinos. Our primary focus lies in ensuring the survival of these species by breeding diverse bloodlines of cheetahs, rehabilitating poaching victims among rhinos, and raising awareness on wildlife conservation among the global community.

Hiking
There are different walking trails in the Zandspruit estate, but we highly recommend a hike around Mariepskop, 1.945 m above sea level, is one of the highest peaks in the northern Drakensberg, and the highest point of the Blyde River Canyon, SA. If you want a guided tour, you can contact Thabelo Sekome, an excellent guide specialized in the area .
Blyde Adventure Centre
The Your ‘One-Stop-Shop’ for sports and adventure activities in an around the Blyde River Canyon. They offer quad-bike rides, Blyde dam boat tours, microlight-flights and hot-air balloon trips.

The Hat & Creek
Nice setting, excellent food, nice wine-card. The restaurant offers a culinary grill and seafood delights prepared with local ingredients and the freshest seasonal flavours. The restaurant has free Wi-Fi and an under-10 kids play area.
Roughly a 5 min drive form the the gate.
The HogFather
The Hogfather is one of the newest additions and already a must-visit restaurant in Hoedspruit. This restaurant is famous for its delicious pork dishes. The town favourite seems to be the Teriyaki Meatballs.

The Thirsty Giraffe
One of our favorites, basic but good, try the espetada (excellent option after a game drive in Tshukudu) There is a action sports at the back of the pub affering action criquets, action netball and action hockey.

The Brewery
The Brewery is a popular restaurant in Hoedspruit that serves a variety of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. This restaurant is famous for its wood-fired pizzas, which are crispy and delicious. They also has a great selection of craft beers on tap, like the Zwakala Lager out of the province.
Blue Mountain
This lovely restaurant/bar has the most amazing view on the Drakensberg mountains. You can sit inside and enjoy the air-conditioning, especially for those hot summer days, or sit outside on the picknick style tables and enjoy the epicnview of the mountains. This restaurant has the same owners as Hat & Creek, but with a different menu, although it has the Hat & Creek favourites. They also serve great vegetarian food.
